The artificial player for Quake

Welcome to the Omicron Bot Homepage. Nice of you to visit this page. The Omicron is said to be the King of Bots. It's all baloney...it's the EMPEROR of bots. And I'm sure (and I, H2SO4.. or Squatt as I have now nick named myself, speak for myself, not for any other person) that the FrogBot will one day replace the Omicron, but that will be the day when the Emperor is old and grey...and it's quite a few years till the Omicron's retirement as I see it. But hey, that's my opinion....and if you disaggree... play the Omicron... enough ranting.

The Omicron Bot is named after the (ex-)Clan, and the Clan is named after the 15th letter of the Greek alphabet. The Omicron Bot is an artificial player for the computer game Quake and is the result of a project initially started to educate the Omicron Clan members in the way(s) of the deathmatch warrior. The project has grown all out of proportion and the bot was released worldwide on December 4th, 1997 with over 10.000 downloads within the first 24 hours (not bad for the time). In the "best quake add-on" contest held at QWF it was voted on a shared 10th place, together with the Reaper bot. That's pretty good for a bot out for nearly a month, to gain that high a position.
